Algae to Chemical and Biofuel Conversion Technology
- Inventure unites life science/synthetic biology expertise with material process technologies to revolutionize the generation of renewable, cost effective chemicals and fuels. The company engineers/selects algae species for their growth properties and suitability for the processing of in-demand functional chemicals, chemical intermediates and fuels.
- We can process a variety of algae species, ranging from less than 1 micron to 10 microns, and including salt water and fresh water species
- Our technology can generate the following compounds from algae: biodiesel, green diesel, ethanol, lactic acid, urethane intermediates, organic acids, 1,3 propanediol and other chemical intermediates.
- Our process generates near the theoretical maximum conversion yields of >99% of total lipids, >90% of carbohydrates, >90% of protein mass to soluble, usable materials for chemical and fuel processing; in other words, the Inventure process generates an extremely high yield of not just the lipid/oil fraction but the entire mass of algae to usable chemicals and fuels.
- The Inventure process captures the remaining organic material (cellulose, starch and protein) and converts the majority of these fractions to useful amino acid and glucose derivatives, adding value to the entire mass.
